Jaffna

Jaffna, a city on the northern peninsula of Sri Lanka, is located at the northern end of the country and is the capital of the Northern . In 2009, we opened the door to the tourism industry. The city is heavily influenced by India, which is found in different streets and foods than in central and southern Sri Lanka. It’s good to visit the beaten road for a couple of days, but keep in mind that the Sri Lankan itinerary is a bit far from the usual attractions, so it will take a little longer.Jaffna is a really raw and real place to visit. Jaffna has many unique things to see and visit, such as ancient fortresses and temples, remote islands, and truly amazing food

In ancient times, the Naga lived on the Jahuna Peninsula. Then came the Kingdom of Ariyachakravarti, which has strong ties to Madurai’s Pandia in India. The ruins of their kingdom are mainly in the Nalur district. Then Portuguese, Dutch and British came and left their mark on the fort, public library and clock tower. Between 1983 and 2009, Jaffna plunged into the Sri Lankan Civil War, retreating the city for over 100 years.
