Kandy

Kandy offers a wide variety of experiences to its visitors from its history, culture and simple landscapes that go hand in hand with its urban appeal. It was the last Sinhalese Kingdom to come under British rule until 1815.

The city’s colonial buildings are well preserved even in the wake of rapid urban development. Near the center of the city is the historic site, Sri Dalada Maligawa, which houses the relic of the Buddha’s sacred tooth.

Today, it’s a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most revered places of Buddhist worship in the world due to the Temple of the Tooth.

WHERE IS KANDY?
